Effective December 2023, App Ape made specification changes to improve the service. Please see below for details.

App Ape Data Estimation Method

App Ape estimates various metrics based on the actual app usage log data of the surveyed panel. As the number of panels increases, data reliability improves.

Specification Changes

To improve App Ape analytics tool, the panels used for estimating data have been updated. (the number of panels has been approximately doubled).

Outcomes

• The number of apps for which data can be viewed on App Ape will increase by approximately 10,000 apps.
• Availability of data for apps with a smaller user base.

Time Period Subject to Change

The applicable time period differs depending on the unit of calculation of the indices: daily, weekly, or monthly.

• Daily Data: Data since December 14, 2023 subject to change
• Weekly Data: Data since December 11-18, 2023 subject to change
• Monthly Data:Data since December 2023 subject to change

Impact of Specification Changes and Points to Note

There may be changes in data trends for some functions* of some apps when specification updates occur. Therefore, auxiliary lines (vertical dotted lines) are displayed on some graphs to indicate the point of change. Please pay attention when analyzing the period before and after this auxiliary line.
