Identity authentication service “3D Secure

App Ape has introduced “3D Secure,” an identity authentication service provided by credit card companies to ensure the safety of your credit card information.

3D Secure is a service that prevents unauthorized use of your credit card information by a third party by entering a password that you set yourself. To use 3D Secure, you will need to have your “Identity authentication password” registered in advance with your credit card company. The “Identity authentication password” is different from the password registered in App Ape or the PIN number of your credit card.

※ Please contact your credit card company if you have any questions about the “3D Secure” password or how to use it.

Q : My credit card has been charged, but an error message appears and the transaction cannot be completed.

A : The credit card company may have determined that the payment is not possible due to a failure of the “3D Secure” authentication service, so please contact the credit card company you are using.

What is the “3D Secure” identity authentication service?

It is an identity authentication service provided by credit card companies to make credit card payments over the Internet more secure.

[ The main reasons for authentication failure are as follows ]

Example 1: Because you have not set a password for the “3D Secure” identity authentication service provided by the credit card company.

Example 2: The “3D Secure” password entered is different from the actual one (because it was entered incorrectly).

Example 3: We believe that a third party is using your credit card fraudulently.

[ Confirmation / Countermeasures ]

(1) Please check if your credit card supports “3D Secure”.

Please contact your credit card company to check if your credit card is compatible with 3D Secure. If your credit card issuer does not support 3D Secure, you will not be able to use your credit card.

(2) Please check if you have registered your “3D Secure” password.

Please register the necessary information in advance on the website of the company issuing the card you wish to use.

You may be asked to enter your “Identity authentication password” on the password input screen displayed when you make a credit card payment through App Ape. Please contact your credit card company for details on how to set up and use the “3D Secure” password for identity authentication.

(3) Please check if the “3D Secure” password you are entering on the authentication screen is correct.

Please enter the same “Identity authentication password” that you have registered in advance with your credit card company. If you enter an incorrect password, the authentication will fail and your credit card payment will not be accepted.

(4) Please check if you are not subject to any usage restrictions by the fraud detection system.

As part of credit card companies' measures to prevent unauthorized use by third parties, there may be times when you will not be able to use your credit card, even if you have been able to use it before, depending on the site, product, amount of money, time of day, or other factors. Please contact your credit card company to confirm whether your credit card is subject to the restrictions imposed by the fraud detection system, and if so, how to respond to the restrictions.

If you are in a hurry, please try another credit card for payment.
